Hi All
I am traveling to Japan with Jetstar next week on a last minute trip that was booked by a TA and I am wondering what to expect
Its on a Jetstar 787 which I understand has built in IFE
Being Jetstar I am guessing you have to pay for the IFE with a credit card or maybe cash but it would be great if someone could confirm that
I have also heard that the IFE allows you to play movies off a USB drive, If so what types of files can be viewed/played?
I am also guessing that meals are purchased onboard using credit card/cash similar to the IFE
Also if anyone has an suggestions as to where to sit then that would be great

You can pre-purchase through your TA he IFE so that it's unblocked and you have access to everything straight away (you can buy on board but it's more expensive). I'd definitely recommend pre-purchasing meals because the buy-onboard offering is extremely lousy compared to their meal options for pre-purchase and it's a long flight w/o food. Have fun in Japan!

The in-seat IFE on Jetstar's 787s is unblocked and free of charge (no need to pre-purchase anything here). I didn't try out the USB flash drive functionality, so I am unsure what media formats are compatible.
Agree with FrequentFlyer - definitely try to pre-book hot meals. The menu onboard is otherwise limited to pre-packaged snacks and drinks. Other than that, I believe there's plenty of places at SYD/OOL/MEL and NRT/KIX to buy packaged meals such as sandwiches and bento boxes.

I've checked with the TA and a meal has been purchased but not sure about the IFE
