You're assuming JohnnyBlack is wondering if the alliance between QF and EK would continue. If that is how you've read the question, then I would agree that it is immaterial.
But that is not how I read the question. My reading is that JohnnyBlack is wondering if Qantas will continue to fly it's own metal to London.
JohnnyBlack, what exactly is the angle of your question?

TRB I read it both ways but as JohnnyBlack didn't specify London I presumed he meant QF to DXB and then EK thereafter to Europe

Funny how it's read differently. I read it as would fares be higher over the weekend during the booking process as it's perceived by several folks over FT.

Yeah quite an open-ended/speculative question so probably useless. But essentially whether there would be any ramifications for pricing/use of FF points/etc; however I expect there to be not such a direct link between strategic announcements and operational matters so quickly.
