I doubt this will happen for a while at least. QANTAS recorded loss of most of their long haul route which causes the long haul network reformed in March 2012, cancelling flights to LHR via HKG/BKK and only remained flights to LHR via their SIN hub. Australia - Berlin (via Asia) is a very long route, so to keep their profitability under current economic environment I doubt this will happen at all for at least some years.
Even if there is such route launching in the future, I am quite sure that it will be via SIN, not HKG or BKK as QF focus all of their stopover operation in Singapore, just like what they currently operate flights to Frankfurt and London

I'm not sure why the poster is asing about Qantas starting a new route to Berlin when Air Berlin is now in OneWorld with its base in Berlin that would be the driver of any direct routes between Berlin and Asia.

I've heard of talk from Qantas staff that there is a new European destination in the works using A330-200s, seeing the A332 SYD-AKL-LAX-JFK leg will soon be gone. Qantas or not Qantas I'll be happy to hear about it.

Yes, I look forward to direct flights to Berlin International from Asia (and OZ) as they seem to direct flights via Dusseldorf.
