I find the service excellent during April and June as well.

There was a chap that seemed like the manager when I was there in July who was nothing short of extraordinary. Not to mention everyone behind the bar that was fun and friendly. 

Assume you mean HKG not HGK.

Was in that lounge last week as a BA pax.  Not impressed. The moment QF128 was called, they packed up the BBQ bar, stopped the plate of the day service, and only had the dodgy food. I walked out and over to the CX lounge in the pier - a little more crowded but far superior offerings.

I cant imagine why any one flying first or with platinum status would ever use the QF lounge in preference to the pier. For gold or business the QF lounge is good, but only for QF flights.

I prefer the QF lounge...each to their own.

You would hope that HKG being CXs base, that they would have the better lounges/facilities... I'm slightly bemused why QF should have the best lounges in EVERY port it serves outside AUST. You could always try the BA lounge.
