Yes. ASAs earn SCs and points, actually. They would make an excellent status running tool if you had the time, as you could cash in the points for a J-ASA to essentially convert points to SCs.

Thanks all, for the various ideas. As I mentioned, I'm not going to have time to do a status run, despite the various suggestions offered. I probably would have been able to get over the line if QF were still flying from Perth to Singapore....

I think the best suggestion thus far is to just ask the QFF centre... Or see if they will offer a status bonus as a once off (I haven't booked the airfare yet, so might have some bargaining power there - if they are prepared to offer enough SCs to get me over the WP line, then I will give them my business for this trip).

Maybe you could let this forum know how you got on with your request to Qantas?
