QF1 F Excess baggage
I'm relocating to the UK next year, flying QF1 in First and am wondering if anyone has had issues of being charged for excess baggage (or what threshold QF would allow you to be over the limit) before they start enforcing extra baggage costs?
I'm QF Gold as well, so the limit's up to 66kg, but considering it used to be 3x32kg, just curious what leniency they have considering F class and OW sapphire.

Not with that much excess baggage. Would consider pre-purchase of excess baggage, or through QF freight.

If you paid for F, you could consider swapping your flight to British Airways instead. They offer 3 x 32kg for their First Class passengers, and you would still get QFF miles and some level of status credit, I think.
If you used points for your first class trip, you could also look into routing to LHR thorugh NRT on Japan Airlines. They will be flying F to Sydney over the summer months, and they also have 3 x 32kg allowance.
Otherwise, I would recommend boxing up some stuff and having it shipped a week or so before you leave, the excess baggage fees can be absurdly high with QF.

Thanks for all of the tips and advice.
Actually was thinking of BA, but did a classic award so there next to no availability in Club or First on BA16. The other option was QF & BA via NRT, but with the mixed carriers the points were an absolute rip off.
I guess my local vinnies will love me by the time I start packing for this!
