Can someone tell me why Qantas no longer offers redeye flights to HKG from SYD/BNE/MEL? They did until a few months ago and was surprised there are only day flighs on offer to HKG now.

Day flights out allows QF to offer overnight flights back to Australia. They've probably decided that the market they cater for would rather have the red eye on the way into Australia than out of Australia.
QF87/88 might go back to a red eye soon - this is probably influenced by a lack of aircraft.

QF shifted the red eye flights to daytime flights to offer passsengers same-day connection/shorter conenction times with their codeshare flights on BA to LHR since they abandoned flying HKG-LHR. It has been like this since 25 March 2012.
