No. Can only upgrade Qantas flights on qantas metal with qantas points.

Indeed. Upgrading on CX can only be done on CX points.

And there is also no 'legal' way to swap QF points for CX points

You can only upgrade using Marco Polo points on a CX ticketed flight sorry!!
