Do you have access to a lounge during a technical stop? I'm travelling to LHR on QF9 in December this year and I'm wondering if I'll be able to access the International Business Lounge at DXB during the ~2 hour "technical" stop? In theory I have access, and I've stopped in there before when changing flights completely, just not on a continuing flight.

Yes you have access to the EK lounge in DXB concourse A. while QF9 is having its technical stop.

Yes, providing you are travelling in business or first or have high enough status if in economy. I have done it many times on QF1.

Yes, you will pass through security, arrive in the duty free area, proceed to the business class lounge (from memory level 4), you can board from the lounge in DXB.

Not always. Any tech stop in the U.S. requires everyone to remain on board. Same for any unscheduled diversion to a U.S. port. An aircraft change, e.g. at LAX for JFK, is of course not a tech stop.
