Has anybody ever had Qantas expedite the shipping of their new QFF card and kit following a status upgrade? I'm due for a status upgrade 4 days before leaving Australia for a month. During this time I'll be flying with other OW carriers and would like to be able to use my new status for these flights for check-in, etc. I'm just wondering if anyone has asked for and possibly even paid for express processing of their new card.

Your newly attained status should be printed in the "service information" section of any OW boarding pass, which you can flash at lounge dragons and the like. You'll rarely, if ever be required to produce the actual card. If you ordinarily use Qantas Cash however, you might want to organise an alternative until you've set it up on your new card...

They've rushed mine before as I was due to leave for the UK in a few times.

Yes, had mine rushed to me within a few days for a fee of around $30 as I was travelling on AA flights. Contact the QF FF Centre once the status change happens. Generally I have found the card handy if travelling on OW partner airlines.

Agree with SNTY, I have never had to show my card in any lounge, your status will show on your boarding pass and that will normally gain you entry to the lounge.

My QF PS came, a few days after I made PS.

As a newly promoted Silver (yeah yeah, I know, cannon fodder) I took great delight in walking up to the Premium Economy Desk and checking in. The Lady never asked for proof, only my Passport, as per normal.
So, I wouldn't fuss, it should be printed on your Boarding Pass each time you fly with a OW carrier .
