I have this trouble all the time they are about the only ones who make sure you get an interconnecting room when you book. Others will only let you know on the day of arrival.
Those two have a family rate where the kids room is discounted and normally the breakfasts for the kids are free if there are paying adults. The Hyatt does have a two bedroom suite tho and is around that price.
I strongly reccomened the Rendezvous Hotel Singapore by Far East Hospitality. The first time i tried it was when Singapore airlines booked me in the hotel for the overnight stay. I stayed at it a few months ago in my last visit to singapore for a few nights, It a great hotel and at a great rate!
It's aging a little bit but the Shangri La Singapore is one of my favourites. It has a great resort feel and is just a few minutes walk to the main part of Orchard Road or there is a shuttle service at certain times of the day. The swimming pool is great and perfect for your kids. The buffet breakfast there is fantastic!
2A&2C can fit into a family room at the Swissotel The Stamford or The Farimont , Some of the Parkroyal's allow this too. Not all suites will have bedding for 2A+2C. if you need help with this email me at [email protected]

How about raffels their standard rooms are around 500-600 per night and can have 2 twin beds
The rooms the Raffels inc Stateroom Suite and has a large bathroom with 2 sinks, seperate bath and shower, 2 TV's and several lounges
Ring them up and tell them what you want as you can't book it online (I think)
