[QF J] Meal Pre-ordering
So the window for Select on Q Eat (QF 35 MEL-SIN, lunch) has opened for me. I was wondering if I'm making the right choice to go with:
Small: Cream of Cauliflower Soup with Toasted Hazelnuts, Eschalots and Breadcrumbs
Main: Beef Fillet with Potato Gratin, Broccoli, Mushroom and Green Peppercorn Sauce
Has anyone here tried these dishes? If so, are they any good or should I steer clear?

For the record, these are my options.
I'm genuinely curious how these dishes have gone for the rest of the membership.

Rub it in Watson!
I assume choosing 'all the above' ain't an option?

And I can't help you choose from experience. But I'd go for the lamb over the cauliflower.

Duly noted. I have a few days to change it, but I might go with the lamb as it's the other thing I was really looking at. I was just a bit worried that so much red meat on a flight might be overpowering.

Are Starters, Mains and Pudding no longer fashionable?
I don't quite understand this small plate, main plate business. It certainly confuses the hell out of me in a restaurant, when I'm sticking to a budget and want to make sure I get enough to eat!
When did pretentions become the order of the day?

Funny you should say that, TRB. I got quite confused when I opened the interface, and thought I could only select a small or main plate, and the leading small plate would be selectable only in-flight...

Heh, I would have already stuffed my face at any of the QF int J lounges by the time boarding begins, for me, I would have no space for any thing on the plane!
Have only done TT in J though. Don't think this such option came up for me in my QF FF account prior to my last int or (so so) Jetconnect int flight from SYD to CHC (dinner) service I took in Oct this year.
Good on you for preplanning.

Nyeh. I'll be connecting up ex-SYD so stuffing my face on terra firma will be done at the domestic J lounge (and on the domestic flight too!). At least it's better than BNE, where the domestic QP shames the international QP. In any case, I won't have too long a layover in MEL so I'll probably not be gorging myself there.
I believe meal pre-ordering only applies to longer-haul widebody flights.
