"priority" line TRS with the QR code has been in my experience and of others to be far from sorted out. And there doesn't appear to be much in way of customs trying to make it work either

I'm still going with it because 1) I've got the QR code already, and 2) it can't be worse than the main hullabaloo.

Even with OLCI, you will still your passport data strip info entered into the QF system.
Analogy here: I was flying ADL PER SIN when QF still did the PER SIN run.
I had OLCI, and printed out BP. Guess what? BP wouldn't work, found out that even with OLCI, you or I or any flier, would still need to present ourselves to a staff member for the data strip on data page to run through the QF keyboard.
Ask for an OPC too, and fill it in on the flight from SYD, saves time. The surly A&BP person, will ask for 3 things, passport, OPC and BP, this might take some time.
I would get the taxi from your place to SYD airport, $$$$$$$$ I know, but even with the EP card, it can still be a long process. I have done recenlty with EP card ADL SYD CHC and it was quite a long time, my was a transit time of 2 hours, so wasn't rushed. But have done a 1.5 hr from SYDd to SYDi and had to forgo the QF J lounge, another time ADL SYD WLG, the transit bus from SYDd wouldn't move, drivers more interested in chatting.
I do realise MEL is walkable from QFd arr to QFi, but still 70 mins is very short, seriously, with a 70 mins going through, I dread your dream of going into the QF J lounge, but its your choice anyway. And your name might be even the one called, and "Offloading of your baggage has commenced" with your name, I would be shy to do it in 70 mins, and have my name annouced on the PA.

I will be spending my last night in the CBD so the first train will arrive with plenty of time to spare. I have a stash of OPCs at home so I'll have that pre-filled.
I like to think I'm a sensible person and won't be going to the lounge if there is genuninely no time.

NOT to mention the body scan prcess, which earns the private guard agency more of your int sec tax paid in the tix, so they will pick more people to go through the full body, than the walk through xray!
