Do you have frequent flyer status with Virgin Australia, Air NZ or a Star Alliance airline?
If not, you'd need a Works Deluxe fare to use priority check-in.

100% you will have Premium Checkin. I've taken many Trans Tasman flights (Works Delux) in either ANZ's 773's and Dreamliners (as of late) and I ALWAYS get Premium Checkin. ANZ's website will also advise you of this http://www.airnewzealand.com.au/the-choice-is-all-yours. Enjoy your flight.

The link shows that priority check-in is only for 'Works Deluxe', not 'The Works'.

I thought that any BNE/SYD/MEL - Auckland, you only got premium economy if you booked the "Works Delux"

Aplogies, I read the question as Work Delux not Works. Anyway I am right about Work Delux, just not the question haha

Why bother with counter check-in, premium or not? The NZ kiosks are so efficient you can get it done much faster that way. Maybe do premium bag-drop if the other bag lines are congested.

Thanks for the answers guys.
Booking in works allowed me to pay something like $30 for seat selection, including in the Premium Economy Cabin.
Might just try my luck and line up for the priority line!
