Best Oneworld frequent flyer program (Qantas FFlyer, AsiaMiles or AAdvantage)?
I am based out of NYC and travel international business to India and Australia every 3-4 weeks. I am already a United Premier 1K and was considering switching to OneWorld given the better airline options. I am confused between whether to register for AAdvantage OR Qantas FFlyer in terms of earn, burn and status earning opportunities. Another important consideration is the high fuel surcharges which airlines apply for award tickets (this was the main reason I chose United Mileage Plus over Krisflyer)
Appreciate your inputs

swapozflyer,
Who do you normally fly with to India and AU?
Which cabin do you fly in?

Hi,
I fly business class; so far I have been flying UA to India and SQ to AU but am keen on switching to OneWorld as the quality of carriers between India and US is better (e.g. Qatar, British, Cathay) compared to Star (e.g. United, Lufthansa)
Cheers,

I recommend asking on flyertalk's oneworld forums, you'll probably get more and better responses over there.
I'd guesstimate that probably AAdvantage would be a lot better than QF for your purposes. You'll have no trouble earning top-level status on any airline so it comes down to earn-and-burn rates (plus evil surcharges) and as far as I know AA still has every other oneworld airline beat in this department.
But as always it depends on the precise details of your flying patterns.

One caveat to that Hugo. Aadvantage is not really ideal if you're based in the US. The rates for domestic redemption is not as competitive. I believe BA's Executive Club might be better. As a rule I find being a FF member of an airline based in the country you live in does not provide you with the best value proposition purely from a demand and supple perspective and the pricing factor of competing against an incumbent.
