Out of curiosity, with Jetstar beginning their Brisbane - Honolulu flights with an A330-200, Could they put a 787 on a rotation of Brisbane - Bali - Brisbane - Honolulu - Brisbane.

Out of curiosity, with Jetstar beginning their Brisbane - Honolulu flights with an A330-200, Could they put a 787 on a rotation of Brisbane - Bali - Brisbane - Honolulu - Brisbane... etc? What are your thoughts?

Unlikely - they usually use the same plane to and from, so as far as my observation goes their planes tided to routes. Though I am happy to be proven wrong.

I agree with you tided to routes theory but it will be interesting which A330 they put on the route 

Some of they a330's were unchanged when they were handed down form Qantas and still have the old IFE, Seats etc

Others have a Jetstar fitout and they will be the last to go once the dreamliner takes over fully on 787 Long Haul routes

I think all of the A330's with the IFE and Qantas seats are now gone

The HNL route requires 3 pilots, it is a requirement that the 3rd (or relief captain) has a minimum of 500 hours on the aircraft type, still being a fairly new type to Jetstar they are yet to build up a pool of 1st officers large enough to operate the HNL route, which is why 330's still fly the route

The B787's Are currently fully used on existing flights. The next 787 is due early next year in which you may see the route upgraded.
