Has anyone had the experience of booking a Hotel via Qantas and receiving the confirmation email and then calling the hotel in question to find that the booking has been cancelled by Qantas al a Expedia?

I found this out by calling the hotel in question to add a small request and that's when they said it had been cancelled

Not that, but made a Qantas booking and got to the hotel to find that they had sold out and Qantas website was still selling rooms.

Luckily for me, the staff were fantastic and found me a room that had cancelled, but Qantas Hotel bookings are not always the best. Probably really depends on the size of the hotel chain in question too. I have booked bigger named hotels and had no dramas, this was a signle hotel.

It's not Qantas's fault, or in reality any other hotel provider website's fault (I used to work for one) - the hotels are meant to update their availabilities on Qantas's website, how are Qantas meant to know if they've sold all their rooms? That's why the hotel had to find you another room and not Qantas, it was their fault.
