Lounges in TBIT and terminal 4 LAX. I am flying SYD-LAX QF107 in business (I), then LAX-SAT on AA5401 (Mesa Airlines as American Eagle) in first (A). I want to check out the new Qantas lounge in LAX but I am guessing there is no way to get to it during my 4 hr transit. Is there any way to get to the QF lounge airside before clearing immigration? Is the AA flagship lounge available to me in terminal 4? I assume this is better than the Admirals Club and Qantas Club. I am Qantas gold and I'll be leaving the states via DFW. Cheers.
Whilst in transit at LAX, you are not able to use the Qantas lounge at TBIT. Your flight leaves from a Terminal 4 and the only lounges available to you is the Admirals Club at the main T4 terminal or new Admirals Club at the satellite terminal. Arriving international pax are segregated till they have cleared US immigration and custom.
Since you're flying with American Eagle, the satellite terminal lounge is ideal. Reviews of it online suggest a smart lounge in line with AA's rejuvenated branding.
Since you are a QFF Gold and flying business on the way in, you are not able to use the AA Flagship lounge at T4. It's only open to OW Emerald or those flying International First class. Access to the Flagship lounge is not available to pax flying domestic First class (there are some exceptions, such as JFK/LAX sectors. These are detailed on the AA website).

Hi TRB, thanks for your reply.
Is the satellite terminal attached to terminal 4 or does it require a shuttle to get to it? Info about this on the web is a bit confusing.
Thanks.

There is a shuttle bus that takes you there. Leaves very regularly and takes around 5 minutes depending on traffic.
