I am in the process of booking a LAX/SYD/BNE/SYD/DFW in First on Qantas for late January and would like to avoid the domestic terminal bus transfers in Sydney. Is anyone aware of flights that would allow me to connect from SYD International Terminal to Brisbane International Terminal and vice versa on a same day connection from QF12 and QF7.

Robert,
Fly via MEL on QF 94. It's a much more civil affair. But if you have to fly to DFW on the way back then you will have to take the bus. Is DFW your final destination? Have you checked if AA has a flight to your final destination from LAX? It will work out cheaper too to fly to LAX - I believe QF still charges a premium to DFW.

Why not just fly non stop to BNE in J? return in J/F. So LAX-BNE//BNE-SYD-DFW. The D-I transfer on the way back is easier. But to answet your question, there are no I-I legs between BNE and SYD.

Indeed, the last I-I leg was the once-weekly SYD-BNE-MNL. That went a couple years back, I think.

Actually, having used the SYDi to SYDd QF transfer bus many times, the scrum is not horribly bad. You also get straight from SYDi to SYDd and can jump straight to the QP. The dom sec screening that occurs at SYDi's QF side is easier to handle than the general screening everyone in SYDd goes through. I think having to avoid the funnel that is the QF SYDd sec screening by being screened after the long trek at SYDi is the best thing since sliced bread! Great plane views too.
The 400 bus is much worst.
You could also get the Sydney trains terminal transfer for $5.50 or so.

O, the long trek after coming of the int secure zone, along the walkway to where the QF int to dom transfer bus departs from is the trek I mean, still within the int terminal that is ,..
...not the trek from int to dom terminals.
