Not really a question but just thought I'd mention that Qantas now look to be charging the $90 ‘extra leg room’ fee for row 23 on A330’s.

Not really a question but just thought I'd mention that Qantas now look to be charging the $90 âextra leg roomâ fee for row 23 on A330âs. Not sure about other aircraft but Iâm usually on the SYD/MEL/BNE - SIN.
Iâd always grab 23 - at only 5â7â it actually felt ok to me - Less leg room but more general space I think. But anyone taller who I traveled with would always complain that it felt more cramped than a regular seat.
Not sure how the justify the extra cost for this one!

It's a crock, and I pointed this out the other night just before I got my own A330-300 on SIN-MEL.
To be honest, row 23 isn't really 'extra legroom'. It's not some of the old 744s that had a massive cutout for the first row of economy. Anyway, row 23 was blocked out when I checked in, so I put myself in 24D. Turns out the flight was half empty despite selected seats all over the place, so I hopped over to 24B and threw my stuff on 24A. There was plenty of space there and there's more room to stretch your legs out under the B seat (but not the A seat as it's got the damn IFE box).
I liked 23, having taken it on most of my A330 flights, but my biggest gripe with it is the lack of footroom, unlike say OJA that had a huge cutout, big enough to shove a bag in after takeoff to use as a footrest!
So yeah, it might be worth 35 bucks but not 90. It's not an exit row!

Perhaps QF could match CX and allow free access to extra leg rom seats for platinum ff (noted currently offered to platinum one).
