Is there anyway to see the seat map for a Qantas flight before booking? What I mean is "e.g. Booking from Brisbane - Singapore on a Qantas A330-300 and seeing If i get the New Business Class or Not?" Thanks :)

Not through the Qantas search engine, but you may be able to use ExperFlyer or some other third-party software to look at the seat map.

As I understand it, SeatGuru shows you the seat map of the configurations but cannot tell you which particular configuration will be flying on the day.

At some extend they do – try to search particular flight at particular day. However companies (QF included) changing planes very frequently and unpredictable, so I personally would not put much trust to any information – been there done that. Only more or less reliable is plane type like SYD-LHR is A380 and everyone knows it while SYD-BKK A330 and so on. And even then they can change it on occasion. Plus another unforeseen circumstances like my son missed QF from DXB to MEL (late arrival by Emirates) and been put in ugly Emirates route via Kuala Lumpur. Not only I had fun to drive to airport at 2am, but he also missed upgrade to business. It is lottery, mate.

Oh, of course it's a lottery! It's a colossal hoopla. Very sorry to hear that your son got kicked to the via KUL flight - that past-midnight arrival is just awful. The via SIN flight is a lot better.

But in the particular case mentioned by the OP, BNE-SIN is basically guaranteed to be an A330-300, so it's either new J or old J.
I think they're going to shunt them to SIN first, so the chances should be high as long as the flight isn't too far out.

Try SeatAlerts app which will shows you not only the seat map but also available, occupied and blocked seats per cabin

The SeatAlert app is a free mobile app version of ExpertFlyer.
It does the job.

What day have you got in mind - I can look it up on Amadeus for you if you want.
