I know being gold/platinum with QFF opens up the doors to more award flights on QF metal than being silver/bronze. But does it open up more award flights on Oneworld carriers too?

There isn't much consistency in how OneWorld partners release award seat stock to other OneWorld partners, most favour their own frequent flyers much more. But from the perspective of only being able to use QFF points to redeem seats on non-QF metal, you are always better off with higher status with Qantas than those on lower status. For those working out if they are better of funnelling points/status to other OneWorld member Frequent Flyer schemes for redemption opportunities (i.e. QFF or AAAdvantage, as has been a recent topic of late), it so often depends on multiple factors specific to the individual flyer.
