I'm flying SYD to SIN return on QF in mid-march. What's the chance of getting the new QF business suite on my flight by then?

Generally speaking, you're more likely to see it on QF81/82 (which has the new seat maps published for mid-March) than QF5/6.

Though they seem to be rolling out the new seats to more route first than to additional services on the same routes.

Still pretty slim as it rotates between SYD - SIN and MEL - SIN. There may be a second International A330 in the air by end March which might make it more stable but until there are a few more in the sky it will be hard to pin down unless your seat map shows you as having it.

Thanks guys - the seat maps are showing the old 2-2-2 configuration so not looking good.

Hope for the best, but be prepared for the old seating (until they have at least 3-4 A330-300s refurbished it's anything but a sure thing).

If it's any consolation, I'm in the same boat, with a SIN booking next month still showing 2-2-2 in J seating map (no limited edition Oroton amenity kit for me alas). I remain open to hope, but if it's the old product come boarding I'll cope.

I'd bring a tablet with a few movies on it if I were you. The old IFE is, I find, unwatchable.

It's not great but then I've flown on the old A330-300 product plenty of times before, so I'll endure (just a pity BYOD streaming not available on Qantas yet, as I'd just stream the content to my iPad Air 2, which has a much nicer screen - but I'm not so bothered to pay for my own entertainment after forking over $4K for a J ticket). I'll read if there is nothing worth watching content wise. On the plus side, I'm coming home on a QF ticketed EK flight (it's a multi-leg journey) so if it's not a refurbished A330-300 taking me to SIN, I'll only have old style IFE for one leg of the journey.

Are you coming back on the EK SIN-MEL flight? Isn't that on a 77W with the sloping J as well?

I'd also read if I wasn't asleep; in fact, on some flights I've actually managed to write.

I will be coming back on an EK 77W for my final sector, but via KUL (on the DXB-KUL-MEL service). That'll be my first EK J flight, as I've always be in F on all my previous EK flights (on long haul A380 and 77W aircraft).

Good grief; I'd never do that flight as I hate arriving at o'dark hundred.

I don't mind arriving home in the early hours, as much as I hate leaving it in the early hours or arriving o/s at such times lol

Arriving at 2am would kill me sideways, given I'd fall asleep shortly before landing.

Luckily (in this case) I'm not prone to such slumber. It helps that I sleep as much as I can before departure.
