Any one familiar with what Finnair Business class to expect between Chongqing/Xian - Helsinki?

Any one familiar with what Finnair Business class to expect between Chongqing/Xian - Helsinki? I have an upcoming trip to North Europe and thought I would make use of the amazing deals that qflyer.com.au have on Finnair currently. Some of the info on AusBT suggests that by 2015 only the A340 aircraft flying SIN-HEL will be left with the older angles J seats. The new cabin looks amazing, and coupled with CX J seats from ADL-HKG would make for a great trip to Europe, especially given the price (half of what most carriers are asking!!) So just wondering if anyone has had experience on these routes, or FInnair in general recently who might be able to give me the heads up, cheers.

Flown BKK-HEL-BKK and was quite disappointed. I bought tickets on specific days when 330 flying with new layout, but they change plane on my flight back (night flight when proper seats would be most appreciated) to 340. I rebook another day with 330, but month later they changed both flights to 340. Was really upset  - those two products are clearly not the same, not even remotely close and substitute good one with bad one without even telling me (forget about apology!) is plainly wrong. Apart of this I happy with Finnair and in fact have booked another ticket with them one way 330 and other way 340 - hope will be lucky this time.

Hi Serg, and thank you for your insight, when was this?  Its difficult to read between the lines of the info on the web, but multiple sources say that by early 2015 almost all aircraft should be reconfigured, and only those that are leased (pending arrival of A350) have the old.  Cheers

It was May last year. I have booking in March this year and on Finnair website 340 shows old configuration. However considering how much Finnair charge BKK-HEL I still pretty happy.

I have flown economy a few times to Helsinki from Singapore and some aircraft (A340's) have newer seats in both Business and Economy already

Had 2 pax in J  award flights booked on Finnair, after reading reports changed to CX drect flight now to CDG.

If its an award I can hardly blame you, but when paying the difference seems to be half!  A lot of the reports from the new J seem to be quite complimentary though, and I love the look of the new servingware etc.  I love CX, keen to try a new OW carrier though
