Redeeming Malaysia Airlines Enrich rewards for Fiji Airlines booked through Qantas

Hi, is it possible to redeem Malaysian Enrich rewards for Fiji Airlines if booking through Qantas (I know I could ring but just thought)! I have platinum OW so looking to use QF lounge ex MEL or SYD on fijian A330 J class.

MH and FJ are NOT partners so you cannot earn or use Enrich miles on FJ flights. Also you cannot make a redemption using airline A miles on airline B flights by calling airline X.

If your somewhat vague question is about access the QF J lounge, then you can only access it with your plat status if you're booked on the QF codeshare or if you're travelling in business with FJ.

Accessing the F lounge will require that you book under the QF codeshare only, and you cannot access it if it's booked under FJ because FJ isn't a OW partner.

Actually, as a MH branded oneworld Sapphire/Emerald lounge access when flying on a QF coded FJ operated flight would not be permitted.

Access to Qantas lounges as a non-QFF oneworld Sapphire/Emerald is only permitted when flying on a oneworld marketed AND operated flight.

As for redeeming Enrich miles for FJ operated flights, this is not possible even if trying to book using the QF flight number.

If the OP has plat status with QFF they CAN use the F lounge IF the flights are booked under the QF codes. For this to occur the OP needs to purchase the appropriate QF fare (no redemptions possible under the QF code obviously).

The question is astounding in so far as to show how poorly management have communicated the features (and limitations) of their frequent flyer programmes to the general publc. Astounding!

Chris O'Neill, you can only book redemption tickets through the airline that has offered you the frequent flyer points/miles. Therefore you are unable to use your Malaysia Airlines Enrich miles as currency for redemption flight bookings through Qantas. Further, Fiji Airways is not a partner airline of the MH Enrich programme, so it is not possible to use your Enrich miles for Fiji Airways redemption. Currently there are no oneworld carriers that serves Fiji (Jetstar is not part of oneworld).

Peter is correct in that as a OW Sapphire/Emerald, you are unable to use the QF lounges when flying on Fiji Airways (Fiji Airways is not a member of the oneworld alliance).  However that is a moot point seeing is you wish to fly in Business Class on Fiji Airways, where Business Class lounge access is available. If your OW Emerald Status is with QFF i.e. Platinum or Plat 1, there might be wiggle room for you to use the Qantas First lounge, particularly since Qantas codeshares on Fiji Airways. This however is unofficial, purely discretionary and can occur only through manual override of the computer system by the agent at the desk . Approach a Qantas staff instead of the Sofitel concierge person to assist you.
