Yes you'll find BSI aircraft (from VA mainline) operating on Trans-Tasman routes now as VA have decided to remove their NZ AOC (ZK-Rego aircraft).
The ex ZK- rego aircraft (non-BSI) are having business class seats installed and are being re-registered e.g. ZK-PBA is now VH-VOO. This allows these aircraft to operate on any routes DOM or INT, but they all seem to just be operating on domestic sectors now after being re-registered.
When you check some of VA's Trans-Tasman flights from the past few days you'll see that quite a few flights are now operated by BSI aircraft e.g. VH-YIM operated VA112/113 yesterday.
Hope I don't confuse you.

No didn't confuse me
But that sounds great for TransTasman flyers
Cause on the ZK rego fleet you did not have gate to gate electronics either

Hi Mspcooper,
The short answer: yes, but as always it can occasionally vary from aircraft to aircraft.
If you're interested, we reviewed a Virgin Australia flight from Sydney to Auckland this week, which had the inflight wireless entertaiment available.
See: Virgin Australia trans-Tasman business class: Sydney-Auckland review
(The entertainment is the same for business class and economy, the only difference being that VA will loan you a tablet if you're in business class.)

Yes, VA's Entertain streaming IFE has been rolling out on all it's short haul international services for a while now, although I'm not sure if it's complete coverage yet. Certainly the refurbished birds will have it - refer to the excerpt from AusBT's coverage the other week:
Virgin Australia ups its game this week with the launch of trans-Tasman business class between Sydney and Auckland – giving travellers even more choice when hopping across the pond for business or pleasure.
Kicking off on flight VA144 this coming Saturday, business class will be offered on every Virgin Australia flight between Australia and New Zealand by March 31: including from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane to Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown, Wellington and Dunedin.
Passengers at the pointy end will find Virgin Australia’s domestic-style black leather seats, with plenty of room to work on their laptop or to unwind with a movie – beamed out to airline-supplied Samsung tablets over Wi-Fi.
