Hi. I'm planning on flying MEL-SIN in June in business and was wondering who has the better J class - Emirates or Qantas? Given that the only international business I have flown is Malaysian, would it be worth my while sampling both - ie emirates MEL-SIN, Qantas SIN-MEL?

Similar concept, but better execution by QF. Try SQ instead.

That will depend on whether you are lucky enough to score the new J seats on the QF A330. There will likely only be a couple of the international planes that have been reconfigured flying at the time but if it is the new J seat then Qantas will definitely be better. Unfortunately it will still be a bit luck of the draw as to whether you will secure it or not though.

By end April, there should be 3 New J A333s...VH-QPA currently online, QPC due online end March, QPB due online end April....so a very high chance of the daily MEL-SIN-MEL QF 35/36 being New J by June...but there's always a chance of an aircraft change due mechanicals/schedule change

QF if you can get the new A330 seats otherwise definitely EK (even though it is a lie flat seat)

I have found Emirates seats to be not quite flat for me. I also find them tight at the shoulder level since I am broad shouldered

I flew Emirates, personally didn't think they were as good as Qantas.
If i was flying again I would pick Qantas over Emirates but living in Perth, dont have that luxury to choose :)

If it was PER - SIN in J, you could choose between SQ and ...... Well at least you wouldn't need to spend time on the choices!

skybed mark 1 is fairly comparable to the EK 777 business class. id go with QF, as i prefer the "australian" service and likely the new business suite.

Like so often with these questions, the answer is it depends.
But I agree with others here, unless travelling as a couple who want to chat away the trip, if you can get a refurbished A330-300 with Qantas then that will make most happy (with a recommendation to have a feed in the Lounge prior to boarding).
