Travelling from Helsinki to Brisbane later in the year, Finnair Helsinki to Narita, then Qantas to Sydney from Haneda. The flight was booked using AA points & is one itinerary. Query is will our checked luggage be transferred between airports? Flying Business...not sure if it matters.

Hi Greg84, if all booked on the one itinerary then your luggage will automatically be ticketed through. Even if it was in split tickets, you can generally have checked luggage ticketed through when flying full service carriers.

Yeh so not matter what airline you fly or what class you fly you will always need to collect your luggage and transfer it between the two airports
Narita and Henda are around 1-2 hours away from each other (depend on which mode of transport you pick)
Depending on your passport you may need a Japanese visa or may need to check you entry requirements into Japan as both your self and your luggage need to officaly enter Japan
You will also need to fork out for an Airport transfer to get yourself between the two airport
If you are unable or unhappy to do this then you may be able call AA and ask to be transfered through NRT on to BNE then to SYD (It won't save an time) but it may be easier
