Does anyone know how to book a classic awards flight from MEL to PVG in Business without getting just a 'business' leg to sydney and 'economy' to shanghai (even though only business is selected)?

Interestingly since posting the question, the booking options now no longer display the mixed economy/business fares that were showing up when this was posted! So problem solved!

Does that mean the answer is "Ask a question on Australian Business Traveller"? ;)

I understand that the circumstances have changed but this may help
Book the different legs seperately
e.g. Book SYD - PVG, business class. (generally shows up)
then Book MEL - PVG, you shouldn't have to book business class becuase it is such a short flight and seriously what a waste. Plus if you are platinum you will probably get an upgrade on the MEL - SYD leg, if you have an international flight after it in the next 2 days. The Qantas computer will regonise that and upgrade you.

I am not sure if this is a valid option but give it a try with their partners Cathay to HKG EX MEL and onwards Dragonair to Shanghai if the whole domestic international transfer at Sydney is just a hassle and you want the 100% business class.Do also take into account virtually ALL MEL-SYD is now 737's.
