I've booked business class with Etihad over the Christmas period (upgraded segments with miles to First). I've been told that while my outbound segments are eligible for chauffuer service, my return segments are not. I have silver status with the Etihad Guest program and based on all the literature on their website, I should get the chauffeur service for all legs of the trip.
Have I missed something?

Just call EY and they will amend your booking to include. Will you be upgrading to First? If so then yes you are guarenteed chauffeur service at boith points.

Thanks to Martin (above) and Jay. I just spoke to an Etihad rep and they confirmed what you said, Jay. I wasn't told this when I booked and I have since sent an email to my travel agent. I'm very displeased.
It turns out that I also don't get car service in Abu Dhabi because my long haul flight segments to Europe have been booked as one journey rather than two. So I am considered 'in transit' and am therefore ineligible for the service.
Not happy about that at all. I'll see what my travel agent says.

Hey Ben, unfortunately that change was made a few months back.
As for the 'in transit' - is your stopover less than 24 hrs in AUH?

Just wish my agent had told me. At the end of the day it isn't a hopeless situation. I'll get over it.
My stopover is longer than 24 hours. However, the way the ticket has been booked I am ineligible for the transfer.

Ben, I've been doing my head in trying to figure out how you would book a ticket differently (with longer than a 24hr stopover) that would indicate a transit. And I can't...
Can you shed some light on this for me pls?
