Hey guys, I am travelling ADL to HKG on Cathay departing 6:25am in the next few weeks in J Class. 2 questions, can anyone suggest a good hotel to stay nearby the airport or should I just stay in the city, suggestions welcome? I arrive at 2110 into ADL the night before from MEL.
Also, having never flown internationally from ADL, I believe that it is a shared Domestic/International Qantas Club. Is it any good?
Thanks a lot!

theres a bunch of hotels in glenelg which is 5 minutes from airport and would be a good place to get something to eat/drink after your flight.
the qantas lounge is in the domestic area so is basically useless to anyoe travelling internationally.

Stamford Grand at Glenelg would be around 5 mins drive, or even a city hotel like Rydges, Hilton, InterContinental etc would only be 10-12 mins drive that time of evening and early morning.
Regarding the QantasClub, its just standard domestic lounge so thats as good as you'll expect, however it only opens at 5am and is quite busy for early morning departures. The Cathay flight does get paged, and as its only International departure that time of day, by the time they call in the lounge, the queues are short and quick through customs.

There is only a 2.5/3 class hotel, Airport Motel on Don Bradman Drive, that has a shuttle to the airport for their guests.
Other than that, there is nothing thats walkable.
All the other hotels mentioned above need you to get a taxi.
The Airport Motel is quite noisy, so hard to sleep in.
Stamford Glenelg is the best.
BUT note, you would need to be at the airport quite early, maybe even 4.30am to have your passport photo page dipped into the computer, even if you have done OLCI. The terminal does close at last flight, and opens at 4.30am, so no, you can't sleep in the terminal.
Lots of taxis abound, so you can easily get a taxi to the city or to Glenelg for those few hours of kip/sleep.

City or Glenelg is best bet for good hotels. Top end would be intercontinental or Holton in city, and then Stamford Grand in Glenelg. There is a newish crown plaza in the city, it's had good review and there is a very new ibis budget that seems very nice and budget price. As for Qantas lounge. Non-adelaideans seems to give it grief all the time...its a domestic QC but very large. Good continental breakfast, barista coffee so it will more than get u started before your J flight. And as others have said they call all one world flights and the ques for customs are short so u don't need to leave ages before departure.
