Does anyone know whether Qantas FFs (I'm platinum) can go to priority/business check in for QF codeshare flights? In this case, it's QF359 operated by Vietnam Airlines.

windowseat,
Another grey area for Economy pax, when codesharing with a non-institutionalised partner. One might consider it madness (pardon the pun)!
But as I see it, unless there is someone policing the queue, a body language exuding confidence backed up with the presentation of your platinum card may startle the agent into overlooking the perceived boorish behaviour. If you play the part, the other passengers will be none the wiser.
I should not expect any formal clarification from either airlines though. I suspect it merely illuminates the unsatisfactory outcomes of such arrangements.

I flew back on a QF ticket but one way HCC to Melb late 2014.
I was in Economy, at check in I was allowed to use priority lane/business check in as there was minimal traffic anyway. Flashed my QF Plat card, which no one questioned. No lounge access offered. Did try also at lounge but was not allowed in.
Boarding was chaotic at best. I was not allowed to use the priority boarding lane.
I was shunted back to the over excited line for Economy!
Note optiontown for upgrades I was unseccessful but I would try again as it has worked before

Hey there. With a QF ticket how did you attempt to use optiontown without a VN PNR? Am interested in the same thing for later this month. Thanks,

Thanks for the advice, sounds like one big mess. The whole check-in thing would be less important if Vietnam Airlines allowed online check in from Sydney (web check in queues are always empty). I'm not sure I can pull off the what-are-you-talking-about-I-do-this-all-the-time expression but I'll give it a go.
As for Optiontown, I also unsuccessfully tried it for a flight from HCMC but I don't think it's offered on this flight. Shame!

Not related to OP's question, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was given a lounge pass for the third party lounge by CX check-in at SGN airport, flying in Economy as a Qantas Gold.
I have looked at the QF codeshare on VN before (QF AKL-SYD, VN SYD-SGN); if there's no lounge access or priority check-in I think i'll stick to CX via HKG.

Lounge pass is a nice surprise indeed.
On the codeshare flight you do get Qantas lounge access in Sydney (obviously in Auckland as well). I wasn't sure but it is showing up in the app.
