We are in the UK for a week in June. What's been the best value/best coverage prepaid SIM to get. I was there in April 2013 and used 3, which was cheap (15GBP-ish) but coverage and speed was patchy. Anything better? (or am I asking too much!!!)?
Last time I was in the UK a local friend gave me an O2 sim. I cant comment on the price as it was a freeby but their rates were good (about 15 pounds for 1gb data) and I found the coverage to be good everywhere I went.
I've regularly used 3, which has shops thoughout the UK. You can get a PAYG SIM from them for £15 a month, which gives you lots of calls, texts, and absolutely unlimited data. 3 now lets you roam in about 20 foreign countries, as if you were in the UK, except that your data allowance drops to a miserly 25 GB a month. Not 25 MB, but 25 GB a month when roaming. Get the SIM in the UK for £15, or from Simcorner here for about $40.
Just been checking out the 3 $40 PAYG sim and it looks great. With 25 GB of data thats a great deal ! Only negative i can see for me is not avalable in Germany or Czech Republic.
Could you imagine an Australian telco giving 25 GB of data when roaming? Or while in Australia? Nah, you're lucky if you get 2-3 GB. And 3 gives unlimited data in the UK and 25 GB when roaming. And for a similar price to what we pay for a SIM in Australia.

Completely agree with all of you. Optus has 'generously' given us 80MB of data a day on the $10 roaming pack!
