morning all, I was just on the qantas website looking for credit card promos. I see that there a few offering bonus points. I signed up to cba's platinum card. It will cost a joining fee ($249)+ a opt in fee ($10) and I will get 40000 points after 3 months with the joining fee to be refunded after 3 months. I also saw that there is an Anz platinum card which is offering 50000 points to new cardholders. My question to everyone is, being a anz platinum card holder for 14 years if I ring anz and state my case do you think that they will kindly credit me with 50000 points for my years of loyalty?
Thanks

I doubt it... It is usually to attract new customers so it's unlikely. Having said that... if you don't ask you don't get so why not try anyway.

CBA is offering no annual fee at the moment!

I would suspect zero percent chance of ANZ giving you 50,000 points!

Does the ANZ promo require you not hve been a customer for a period? If not cancel the existing card and sign up for a new one.

They have thought of that already and blocked any existing customers from cancelling and resigning. The wait period is 6 months.

Just a quick update for you guys. I rang anz and after being put through to 3 different departments I received an outcome. 14 years being a platinum card holder does not get you the requested 50000 points but it does get you a refund of this years annual fee. Oh well its better than nothing I suppose.. Thanks
