Asiana is a Star Alliance member, so you could also use them for flights with airlines such as Air New Zealand, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, United, Lufthansa, Air China and so on.

Yes.
If you have enough points, or if the *A allows points plus pay, which some say is not a good use of points, points plus pay that is.
When Ansett was still around, and part of *A, I was able to get a J reward seat from Australia to Singapore, even though I wasnt a member of Singapores KF membership system, I was a Global Rewards member though.

As well as Star Alliance airlines, Asiana Club also partners with Qatar and Etihad.

http://www.staralliance.com has a mileage calculator.
Looks like they don't have a points plus pay, so you might need to keep flying with them or a *A airline till you get enough points for a rewards.
