Apologies for typos in my post, changing planes! I am not associated with telstra in any way other than paying them lots of oney over the years with ups and downs, hope this new plan is on the upside.

Do you have a link? Can't see anything on the mobile version of Telstra's site.

On that note, has anyone tried GlobalGig $9 prepaid deal for 1GB in Australia, UK, US and Ireland?
Does it work?

Telstra: $195 for 1.5 GB in most countries, and 15 GB in Australia.
Three (3) in the UK: £15 for 25 GB in most European countries, USA, Australia, NZ etc, and Unlimited data in the UK.
Clearly Australians are being ripped off when it comes to paying for mobile data. We typically pay around $30 a month for a mere 3 GB of data, but the British pay about £15 a month for enormous amounts of data.

Take away the comparisons of other countries as they really aren't valid. Australia is a huge country with a tiny population so the cost of building and maintaining a decent network here is obviously going to be higher than in places like the UK.
This appears to be a great deal from Telstra for anyone who travels overseas frequently.

A great deal? Are you serious? It's nothing more than a rip-off.

I'm currently on the Telstra $135 a month plan. I often travel overseas more than a week a month for work which generally costs $10 a day for their international travel pass so for me it potentially works well. I don't use overseas SIMs as I need to be accesible on my Australian number.
It isn't for everyone but for some people it will be a winner.

I know its restricted to Apple phones, but I use Facetime Audio constantly when Im away. Better quality than regualr calls and free. In fact Im going to use it in Australia more and cut back my monthly fee.Failign that I use Skype or Line...definatly not a telco overseas.unless I purchase a SIM locally. .
