If I earn my Qantas Platinum status while overseas how can I access the First Lounge (London)?

If I earn my Qantas Platinum status while overseas how can I access the First Lounge (London)? Or if I called Qantas would they issue it in advance?

If you've hit plat on your leg over, and this has been credited to your account prior to the leg back, then this should show up when you check in, which will be printed on your ticket thus allowing you access.

Usually, within a day or so, the new status will print on your subsequent boarding pass......so PROBABLY

You can always login to your frequent flyer account on your phone if necessary.

Just don't expect the BA Galleries First lounge in T3 at LHR to be anywhere near as good as QF's F Lounge.

If you will qualify for QFF P on your outbound flight, then as mentioned by others your status should update within a day or so and then be recognised at your next check in.  Can take longer for One World flights.  If you are flying QF outbound and that booking will take you to P, then a call to QFF beforehand might get you in to the F lounge on departure -  worth a try !

Thanks guys. Good to know. GregXL - I'll defintely try calling Qantas though I know a friend in the same situation (5 status credits short pre-flight) who got turned down on an early platinum request!

What GregXL said - if they are oneworld flights they may take a while to show up but if your flights are QF coded shouldnt be a problem
