As you will have attained Silver Status before your anniversary you will automaticly be given Silver Status. Allow a coupe of weeks for QF to send you out your Q Tags and New Membership Card. If you wish to status match with Skyteam, you will need to send a photo of your Silver Card. Hope this helps.
When Qantas upgrades you to a higher status, you're upgraded immediately, and receive the new status - in this case silver - for the remainder of your current membership year, plus another year on top of that.
Because you're upgrading late in your membership year, you will receive 'only' one year of Silver benefits, which will last you until the end of July 2016.
You will need to earn 250 status credits and have 4/4 QF segments in your next membership year (August 2015 - July 2016) to retain Silver after this.
Just as an FYI - your status credits will still expire at the end of July this year - you'll need to earn the full 700 SC in your next membership year to reach gold.

QF Silver Status for just 1 day.
Hi all,
I have just in the last two months started flying for work and i am currently Bronze.
My Membership Anniversary date is 31st July 2015 and i will reach 300 SC on a flight on the 30th July 2015 with my current flight schedule.
I have easily already done the 4/4 segments.
So my question is will Qantas still process my Silver status for 1 day?
Will i get the Silver Tier benefits of Q Bag tags, One complimentary invitation to QC, Silver Card etc?
And importantly will i only require 250SC to get back to Silver?
I would also like to take advantage of the SkyTeam Status match so will need my Silver card.
Thanks

If I understand the question correctly, you will receive a full year of Silver.

Oh, and you'll get the standard Silver upgrade kit - card, bag tags, and all the rest.

Thanks for the replies.
Well that is a bonus i was not expecting. I was of the belief that the Status only remained for that current membership year not an "additional" year
On that basis then looks like i could reach Gold in my next membership year.
Cheers

The status bonus is just for extra points, not status credits unfortunately so silver won't help there...
