Vancouver to LAX
We are seeking advice as to the best options for Vancouver to LAX. I notice the Air Canada flights seems to be all operated by Canada Rouge and have heard some not so flattering reviews. Would be looking for business seats and some comfort. Any tips appreciated.

YVR to LAX is a short flight.. I can't imagine it would be all that different. I'd go with the one that let's you earn points/miles and lounge access (assuming you have FF elite status with a non-us airliner).

If you want to go direct - United, Delta and AA are all operated by their regional carriers (I have flown Delta Connection from YVR in first and I didn't mind it). Alaskan operates 737's on that route (haven't flown them in first but they have a very average economy!).
I can't comment on Air Canada sorry, never flown them.

Nonstop your options seem to be AA, UA, DL, AC or Alaska.
UA will put you in a CRJ-700, so forget that. Even in business, that's a cramped, nasty plane.
DL and AA will put you in an Embraer E175, definite improvement over the CRJ. Not sure exactly what the product is like in biz class.
Alaksa will put you on a proper 737, and I've only heard good things about them. I've never flown them, only on their Horizon former subsidiary, but it was a step above regular US carriers in terms of service.
If it were me, I'd exclude United and choose among the rest based on schedule.

I recently flew from YVR-LAX on Alaska Airlines 737 and would rate them 9 out of 10. The fabric seats in economy have plenty of legroom, and the business seats are very roomy.
Great service too and an amazing inflight menu even boasting cheese platters (you have to pay, of course)
Having travelled on many US Airlines over the last few years Alaska would be my pick out of all.
Many flights landing into LAX recently have been delayed, so allow for this 'just in case'.
