Three class. Upstairs or up the front really comes down to personal preference. Upstairs is generally quiter and more initmate. Downstairs provides more options and is roomier. Both are fine.

It is three class, but the aircraft can be one of the 2 remaining non-refurb 747s, in which case the old F product is still in place, but sold as J. It is getting tired, but does have the advantage of the seats single seats on the windows if you are travelling alone. These last non-refurbs 747s should leave the fleet over the next year, so the odds are decreasing.

I flew SYD - NRT last week on QF21 and it was one of the non refurb B747. Agreed that F is getting tired but still a comfortable seat to sleep on.
