Hi all, we land in Heathrow airport at 8pm on Christmas evening 2015. Just discovered their train system will be closed. I have then researched the cost of a private minicab from terminal 3 to Soho for about 44-65 pounds, ie $88 to $130 Australia dollars. Does this sound reasonable and would there be any other less expensive way to get to Soho. Thanking you all in advance.

Yeh that sounds about right and you could not expect to get anything better unless catching a bus which runs roughly every hour to paddington station from the airport (On xmas day)

If you want a less expensive way to get to Soho, I recommend using the free transport system available anywhere - walking. It's free and it's healthy.
J.K. Yes the price seems right especially on Christmas.

Sounds right... London cabs are definitely expensive but you get a free tour guide who knows the quickest way anywhere. Great if you're a first time visitor... Just work them into tour guide mode "is that Wimbledon on the left there?" And you'll be hearing tales of public executions and the origins of street names! Money well spent.

Cant argue with any of the thoughts above, however have just read an article in their current edition titled '9 things you should know about Uber at airports' on Airfarewatchdog Insider. It is an American site, so most articles are slanted to the US market, however it may be worth a look just for the extra options that may be available.
