Yesterday I asked if VA 555 from Syd- Per is a lunch service in Business Class. One reply said it was but whilst waiting for a reply I was talking to VA Velocity guest Contact service and they say it is NOT !! What is the correct answer ? It's high time VA included this info I the flight information service such as QF and others do.

From last enquiry (and a huge thread on AFF)
Breakfast First Flight - 08.30
Morning Snack 08.31 - 11.59
Lunch 12.00 - 14.00
Afternoon Snack 14.01 - 17.59
Dinner 18.00 - Last Flight
The times are scheduled not actual, so if your 1755h flight leaves at 1900h it's still a snack.

The confusion in my mind is as to whether the times quoted are departure times or if the aircraft is airborne during the time frame.
I ask this because VA555 arives in Perth at around 2PM EST which is inflight during which Pax from Sydney would have had a lunch in normal circumstances.
Also their web site states that " On flights over 2 hours and 45 minutes, guests can indulge in a full, three-course dining experience for lunch and dinner "
All of this confusion could be simply avoided if they post the meal information in the flight bookings breakdown. Most other Airlines do this so it's about time VA did.

They're departure times.
VA customer service and information dissemination is a total process failure so don't hold your breath trying to find out something.

Those dont apply for the transcon A330 services. Lunch/Dinner is between 9:30am until 9:29pm (departure times).
555 departs at 9:35 so it would be lunch

While the information on the website is seems confusing, I can confirm I have had a 3 course lunch on this flight a few times before. Same with the A330 flight from Melbourne which departs in the mid morning.

Back in April I flew VA555 business class to Perth. I can confirm they offer a 3-course lunch menu.

Sounds like breakfast that runs from 3am to 9:29am. The 'supper' service is 9:30pm until 2:59am

Thanks for the info.
It still seems a little cloudy but Sim1's flight looks like a breakfast time flt.
I have contacted VA via the facebook and asked them to simply contact their catering department and ask them . That should give a definite answer. Getting a reply though is not very fast at all!!! It would all be so simple if VA put the inflight meal service dtails in the bookingsystem with the flight numbers. So manby others do this.
