Does anyone know if the China 72 hour visa exemption applies if travelling in and out on separate tickets/airlines please? My routing would be Jakarta - Beijing - Kuala Lumpur.
Doing it on separate tickets can cause delays at PEK. They rely on the airline flying in to tell them that there are 72 hour visa free pax inbound. If the airline doesn't transmit that data, you may find that the visa free transit desk is closed and need to fill in extra paperwork when someone turns up.
