Hi,I'm trying to book a business class seat on VA from Sydney to Perth and Virgin cannot confirm which aircraft will have the new business class until November!? I understand VA will take 3 months to convert all 6 aircraft to the new business class but surely someone in VA would know which aircraft will operate the new seats. If someone could advise that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Until all the aircraft are converted it is pretty much a lottery. Until then, they are not really in a position to guarantee that any particular aircraft will operate a particular flight.

You could try Expedia they show aircraft layout for bookings on VA
But as said before things change and no guarantees.

With VA you don't know until you see the plane at the gate.

I also tried to find out and there seems to be a way that whilst not guaranteed will be fairly accurate.
A lot would depend upon which month you are going to travel.
When I phoned the Guest Contact to check on a booking I was going to make in mid Oct. I simply asked the consultant to have a look at the seating configuration shown for that particular flight on that particular date.
If it shows as 2:2:2 then it's the older version whilst if it is 1:2:1 then it's the newy.
Given all that , until at least mid October when they should all be close to being done this should be pretty accurate . However until then there is always the chance of an aircraft change due to mechanical or other reasons so at this time it could not be guaranteed but would be a good indication if nothing gets changed.
