Etihad-Velocity question: If a ticket was sold by Etihad through their website but the metal is Alitalia with EY flight number, do you get Status Credits with Velocity?

Etihad-Velocity question:

If a ticket was sold by Etihad through their website but the metal is Alitalia with EY flight number, do you get Status Credits with Velocity?

Velocity T&C number 1 is

1. Status Credits cannot be earned on all fare classes. Status Credits can only be earned on eligible flights, marketed and operated by Virgin Australia and/or a Velocity airline partner. 

So if it's marketed, but not operated by a partner, that suggests the answer is no.
