I am booked in J with ek and wish to access 6 j and K which are currently blocked out but with no-one in the seats. EK are telling me these seats are pre-reserved for passengers with infants only and will only be released at the airport. Is this true or are they holding their seats for EK passengers with emirates status? I am QFF gold. I already have 7 J and K booked for my wife and son and wanted to sit in the row of 2 in front of them in the forward cabin. Is there anything I can do, should I ask again or is this the way it is?
Stay in 7JK. 6JK is over-rated. The aisle seat gets knocked around when the trolley goes by and you get disturbed very easily. I hate travelling on EK 777 except in First.
The best way to be allocated is to unallocate your seat and let the airport allocate it by chance. If EK is anything like EY, there will be a customer service email address at your home airport and you can email them and ask them to allocate it for you. I am Platinum on EY and last time I ask for the front row of business on the A380 they upgraded me to first.
I have in the past traveled frequently on EK 77W in J, row 6 is always blocked for parents with infants until check in at the airport. 95% of the time (as a QF Plat) they had had no issue releasing row 6 to me at check in or in the EK Lounge, I never had any success with the call centre. I assume you know row 7 is missing a window on the 3 Class 77W in the most comfortable position for the passenger to view from.

Call them and ask to allocate seats for you saying that you like to be seated together.
