Flying Tokyo to New York return in economy. Which airline would you choose?
Must be direct. No preference on airports at either city, open to various times of day. Mainly a question around service. One World sapphire, EY gold, Skyteam gold... Thanks
From NRT or HND to JFK or EWR you really only have 4 airlines flying direct; namely AA, UA, JL and NH. In economy I'd go for JL or NH. Since you're not Star Gold, I'd suggest flying JL.
Considering that you are OW emerald it would be silly not to go with them, JAL offer their 777-300ER and 787-8, I would go for the 777 as there is more room, the 787 is known to be a tight squeeze in Y. Delta also operate this route but I can't stand them or United, their Y absouletley freaks me out. ANA is not a bad option but considering you don't have status with them it is not really an option.

Personally I like JFK airport because friendly staff etc. for flights recommend American Airlines or Japan Airlines as it was a good experience.
