I have an upcoming flight, flying SYD-ORD with Japan airlines codeshared with AA with flights between NRT-ORD. I'm looking to upgrade to business using my QF Frequent Flyer points. However, I have attempted many times to contact both AA and JL to upgrade but have been to contact either AA if calling JL or contact JL if contacting AA. On my last call to AA, they advised me to contact Qantas, to pursue the upgrade? However the ticket itself was not issued with Qantas. Just looking to see if anyone can provide me with some advice who to contact instead of being shrugged off to contact someone else.

HI Wali if you are having too much trouble with the whole process could you transfer points at a 1:1 basis. There are Hotel loyalty programs and Credit Cards where you are able to transfer points. 

But before you transfer them, ring up JAL and ask if there are any spare upgrades available then transfer them, this isn't the best method but sometimes it is the only one. Only transfer them at a 1:1 basis otherwise it will be a waste.
