To be fair it is awfully hard to find an old post on this site.
I'm not sure I would use such a loaded term as "lazy".
But really this question and that response from Qantas is the very reason why you don't ever book a Jetstar and QF combination. Ever.

i know we downgraded to go with jetstar, however we are travelling with our 2 18 month old girls.
they will be tired and crankey in the morning, and it will be hell going to Syd, changing airports andwaiting 2 hours then flying back to BNE.
i think this is the better choice

I've copied these from your previous question to keep everything together. The other question has now been removed. You can find this question later, even after it has disappeared from the homepage, by clicking your username at the top of the page (when logged in) and looking in the 'interactions' box. :)

if both of your flights are on the same ticket then your luggage should be checked all the way through

It took me 30 secs to go the the Jetstar website and hover over the plan and book section before clicking on baggage transfers over on the right.
Which gives the result "Connecting international Jetstar flights and flights with our partner airlines, where both international flights were purchased on the same booking".
It would even be printed on your E-Ticket.
A list of the partner airlines are listed on the Jetstar website.

thank you everyone for replying.
i feel quite stupid for not thinking about looking on the jetstar website, as I only called Qantas and googled the flight numbers.
i also know how to find my previous posts.
