Hello. Just wondering if anyone can advise what lounge arrangements are available for Qantas Gold FF passengers travelling on an Emirates flight (QF ticket number). I was under the understanding that Qantas FF Gold passengers travelling on a QF ticket had access to the Emirates Business lounge, but when I turned up at the lounge this morning I was turned away. I was travelling in economy class. Could that have been the issue ?
As a QF Gold, I have always granted access to the Emirates business lounge in Dubai on both QF coded and EK coded flights in economy as well. You should have asked for a supervisor and a list of the terms that states why you shouldn't have been granted access.
I have had multiple failed attempts using my QF gold card in other Emirates lounges across the world where its not accepted. Its always worth a try and it did work once. I wish they would allow QF elites to access their lounges in the Americas at least. I was made an exception at the Emirates lounge in SFO, but it was so empty and I was extra nice. It would be so nice if we were allowed to use the Qantas lounge at LAX for Emirates flights to DXB, but even that is restricted to QF, oneworld only. Oh well!

You should have been allowed in. You should complain.

Phone up EK, tell them that you are very annoyed. If EK customer sevice is half decent you should get a voucher or some sort of freebie! :)
